Contamination and Cleanliness – Developing Practical Responses to a Challenging Problem
Contamination and Cleanliness Issues are one of the primary drivers for field issues in electronics today. Often, intermittent failures result in No-Fault-found, (NFF) returns. Failures have been observed on batteries, LCDs, PCBAs, wiring, switches etc. and is projected to get worse as components continue to get smaller and lower profile. (e.g QFNs). The smaller bond pads associated with these parts require more aggressive flux compositions to be effective. In the first half of this webinar, DfR Solutions will present the issues associated with contamination and cleanliness. In the second half of the webinar, Kyzen will provide insight into approaches for obviating these issues, testing approaches, and detailed information that will help you, the user.

Attend this webinar to see the newest release of PADS. Highlights include the benefits of 3D viewing, placement, and DRC, as well as STEP model import and STEP export of the full PCB assembly. We’ll also show you some of the usability and productivity enhancements we’ve made to PADS Layout, xDX Designer, and, yes… even to PADS Logic!
Condition Based MaintenanceCondition Based Maintenance (CBM) is an emerging strategy that adds to traditional Corrective and Preventative strategies. If implemented properly it can reduce the need for corrective maintenance while optimizing preventative schedules, resulting in improved availability and cost savings. The most obvious inputs to understanding equipment condition tend to favor valves and rotating machinery as initial targets of this strategy. Condition based maintenance of electronic assemblies has been an afterthought , given the lack of insight into equipment condition. Combining a predictive analysis with environmental measurements may offer insight into equipment condition and Remaining Useful Life (RUL), allowing the expansion of emerging CBM strategies to a encompass electronic assemblies
