Interfacing Sherlock Automated Design Analysis™ with Abaqus FEA to Predict Electronics Reliability
Presented jointly with:
Learn about the advantages of using Sherlock by DfR Solutions, a Dassault Systèmes' Simulia Partner, to interface with Abaqus to design reliability directly in to electronics products. Sherlock includes an extensive component library and materials database, in addition to supporting all the major ECAD file formats, to allow designers and analysts to efficiently develop complex analysis models with ease.
Once the analysis model is setup, Sherlock may be used to produce a variety of failure and reliability results. When digging deeper in to the results becomes necessary, Sherlock includes tools to integrate with Abaqus using a seamless technique to generate a complete Abaqus/CAE model or submit directly to the Abaqus solvers. Additionally Abaqus results can be leveraged directly in Sherlock using its custom electronics post processing capabilities.
- Predict product failure before manufacturing a product
- Design in quality, durability, and reliability early in the product development process
- Evaluate complex models, materials, and multiphysics using an efficient and innovate workflow

What are the requirements of a typical wearable electronics device? They must be non-restrictive, portable, always be accessible, easily controllable, and have both localized communication and possibly wireless communications capabilities. The soldier systems must be much more robust and be able to withstand rain, sand and dust, thermal shock, solar radiation (UV exposure), icing, high and low temperatures, fungus growth, water immersion, mechanical shock and electromagnetic (EMC) compatibility. As such, these systems are costly and have long development cycles.
Bits & Chips Smart Systems 2014Meet us at this event for high educated professionals and technical managers. Mentor is exhibiting with InnoFour, our business partner for Benelux and Scandinavia. Working together we help customers innovate, shorten development times, be more predictable to produce competitive products.
