The latest releases of HyperLynx address the increasing complexity of today’s advanced system designs through an emphasis on both ease-of-use and team productivity.
Note: The following is a condensed summary of the HyperLynx release highlights. Mentor customers should refer to the Release Highlights on Support Center for detailed information regarding all new features and enhancements.
Configurable SerDes Compliance Analysis Engine
The new SerDes Compliance Analysis engine allows support for new protocols to be added quickly. Over 100 popular protocols are now supported out-of-the-box with the 2.8 release, including multiple standards from the Ethernet, Fiber Channel, HDMI, JESD, MIPI, OIF-CEI, PCIE and USB families.
DDR5/LPDDR5 Support
Simulation of DDR5/LPDDR5 technologies with IBIS-AMI models is now supported. Interactive DDR5 simulation allows quick what-if experimentation, while DDRcx batch simulation provides full interface-level verification for both pre-layout and post-layout analysis.
Pulse Response Simulation
Pulse response simulation provides a quick, easy way to assess signal quality and routing consistency without the need for IBIS simulation models. It's a great way to run first-order analysis on a layout to identify signals that require a closer investigation.
HLDRC Wizards
HLDRC wizards streamline the process of setting up and running analysis with HLDRC. The Project Setup Wizard speeds the process getting a design ready to analyze. The DDR wizard ESD wizards automate rule setup and verification for DDR interfaces and ESD constraints. The Quick Check wizard runs the 7 most common rules for PCB layout. Custom wizard creation is also supported as part of the HLDRC VX.2.8 release.
New in HyperLynx Advanced Solvers
It's easier than ever to visualize, examine and edit of rigid-flex designs directly in the solver GUI. 3D Explorer includes an new solder ball breakout template that speeds the process of optimizing breakout patterns for large devices. Full-wave solver now provides power density animation plots that show how a stucture conducts, reflects or scatters energy.
EDM/HyperLynx Integration Update
VX.2.8 expands the EDM and HyperLynx integration to manage 3 new data types created by the HL SI/PI/Thermal, HyperLynx DRC and HyperLynx Advanced Solvers tools. This lets users view simulation reports directly from EDM.
DC Drop Improvements
HyperLynx PI now supports multi-phase power suppiles with remote sense lines, reporting power supply voltages required to meet voltage requirements at the load.
