Getting Started with the SystemVerilog DPI
Webinar Overview
It is often useful to be able to cosimulate software written in another language together with a Hardware Description Language, but some of the existing fully featured Application Programming Interfaces for SystemVerilog are rather complicated for this purpose.
The SystemVerilog Direct Programming Interface (DPI) however is an easy-to-understand interface between C and SystemVerilog - and much more suited to cosimulation.
This webinar will explain how to get started with it.
Content Summary:
You can expect to learn:
- How to call a simple C function from SystemVerilog
- How to call SystemVerilog functions and tasks from C
- How to pass various SystemVerilog data types between SystemVerilog and C
- How to call a more complex C program from SystemVerilog
Practical examples are given using the Questa® Advanced Simulator from Mentor®.
Doulos Senior Member Technical Staff Matthew Taylor will present this training webinar, which will consist of a one-hour presentation with interactive Q&A available to attendees throughout.

In this webinar we will discuss a study of BGA packages that were underfilled with two dedicated underfill materials and two soft materials used as conformal coatings and encapsulants in electronic products.
Reliability Modeling and Simulation of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Assemblies Using SherlockThis webinar will provide a live demonstration of how a COTS PCBA can be assessed using Sherlock Automated Design Analysis™ software, given only a physical sample and no design information.
