Mentor Graphics PCB Update Seminar

Expedition Enterprise is touring Europe

Eight countries (including Finland and Netherlands) in five weeks. Customers across Europe will hear technical updates on Expedition Enterprise and HyperLynx at our annual PCB Update Seminars. PCB Update is designed to bring you up to speed on all of the latest capabilities within the Expedition Enterprise 7.9.3 and Hyperlynx 8.2 releases.

But it also provides a great opportunity to:

  • Share tips, tricks, and insights with colleagues who face similar challenges
  • Get practical advice from the experts who design, build, and support Mentor Graphics solutions
  • Gain inspiration and knowledge by connecting with peers

Who Should Attend

  • PCB Designer
  • CAD Manager
  • Team-/Project leader

What You Will Learn

Morning Sessions:

Expedition Enterprise 7.9.3:

  • Ease-of-use enhancements for DxDesigner
  • The introduction of 'iCES,' the next step in constraint management
  • The integration of vSure/Valor NPI into Expedition PCB Layout
  • Enhancements to Expedition PCB and XtremePCB

Hyperlynx 8.2:

  • De-coupling acceleration (unlimited cores)
  • Integrated co-simulation of power and thermal integrity for DC drop analysis
  • Integrated 3D via modeling for SerDes optimization (unlimited cores)
  • IBIS-AMI simulation & sweeps
  • Optional 3D via model acceleration

Afternoon sessions:

Advanced Routing Tips/Tricks

This session will focus on tips you probably didn’t learn in your Expedition 10.1 class. It will cover interactive and auto routing (when it’s useful; where it can save time). Functionality added in the last two releases will be revisted together with the Smart Utilities that are designed to simplify key routing tasks.

Power Distribution Network Design for Layout Designers

This session will give layout designers a better understanding of the physics behind plane design, an overview of tools that can help (Expedition PCB and HyperLynx PI), and a consistent process with which to use them. It will introduce HVM (high-speed verification methodology), a consistent process for planning, design & analysis, and verification of power distribution networks.
