Understanding the IBIS AMI Simulation Flow
Overview
The goal of this presentation is to describe the basic steps of IBIS-AMI simulation, and how and why this is different than typical time-domain simulation.
The IBIS specification includes a branch of the IBIS model called the Algorithmic Model Interface (AMI) to make certain simulations run much faster. The simulation flow for IBIS-AMI models is significantly different than for regular IBIS model simulation in transient analysis. Recent enhancements to the specification extend the usefulness of IBIS-AMI models from SerDes components to include DDR5 components.
What You Will Learn:
- The required files for an IBIS-AMI model
- The purpose of using an IBIS-AMI simulation
- What makes a good and valid IBIS-AMI simulation
- Viewing and understanding the IBIS-AMI simulation results
- How the IBIS-AMI models change to work for DDR5
Who Should Attend:
- Anybody who uses IBIS-AMI models for analysis of SerDes or DDR5 nets
