What is Sketch Routing?
Join us at this free Expert Series Webinar that will demonstrate how to use Sketch Routing and Sketch Planner.
Sketch routing is an assisted-routing technique that allows PCB designers to guide the router by drawing a rough path (a “sketch”) for the critical nets. The router then intelligently completes the routing based on design rules, constraints, and the designer’s intent.
Key Benefits of Sketch Routing:
- Real-time interaction: Designers can route nets the way they visualize them, with immediate feedback.
- Reduced setup: No need to define complex auto routing strategies or constraints beforehand.
- Precision + Flexibility: Combines the control of manual routing with the efficiency of automation.
- Ideal for critical nets: Especially useful for high-speed or sensitive signals where trace length, impedance, and via count matter.
What You Will Learn:
- How to use Sketch Routing: Draw, Route - packed and unpacked, Via Patterns
- How to use Sketch Planner: Setup, Draw, Modify, Route, Shielding Rule
Who Should Attend:
- Layout Engineers
