Mentor Graphics Announces Tanner Eldo RF for the Tanner Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Verification Environment
WILSONVILLE, Ore., Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mentor Graphics® Corporation (MENT) today announced that Tanner Eldo® RF is now an integral part of the Tanner™ analog/mixed-signal (AMS) verification environment. Adding the proven and advanced simulation capabilities of Eldo RF to the established Tanner design and layout suite provides a comprehensive RF IC design solution for building products targeting connected sensor and internet of things (IoT) markets.
The Tanner Eldo RF tool provides proven RF verification for wireless applications in the connected sensor and IoT markets by employing a set of dedicated algorithms to accurately and efficiently handle the low-power signals in these applications. The tool provides a wide range of analysis capabilities, a set of RF-dedicated functions, and a powerful set of optimization algorithms suitable for various types of circuits. Analysis modes include:
- Shooting Method/Periodic Steady State (PSS);
- Modulated Steady-State Analysis with RF/Baseband Partitioning;
- Multi-Tone Steady-State Analysis (Harmonic Balance).
"Adding the advanced analysis capabilities of Eldo RF to the Tanner IC design flow brings a highly capable solution to designers of next-generation, low-cost, and low-power IoT devices, by providing a robust and efficient design platform for TowerJazz's leading-edge, specialty process technologies," stated Ori Galzur, vice president of VLSI Design Center and Design Enablement at TowerJazz®.
The Tanner IC design suite supports analog, mixed-signal, MEMS, and now RF design in one complete, highly integrated, end-to-end flow. Designers capture the schematic, perform analog and mixed-signal simulation, and lay out the physical design within this unified flow. With the addition of the Tanner Eldo RF simulator, each designer using the IC flow can interactively invoke the simulator in order to verify the design. A deep integration of the tool includes the ability to:
- Run Tanner Eldo RF directly from the Tanner S-Edit™ schematic capture tool;
- Display operating point results directly on the schematic;
- Directly specify simulation modes for RF analysis in the Simulation Setup user interface;
- Cross-probe waveforms;
- View simulation results in the Tanner EZwave™ waveform viewer.
"The next wave of IoT devices will demand highly-integrated and differentiated products that combine MEMS, sensors, mixed-signal, and RF. With Tanner Eldo RF, our customers will be perfectly positioned to capitalize on this fast growing market," said Greg Lebsack, general manager of Tanner operations at Mentor Graphics.
