Board Design Flow Data Interaction is a 3-webinar series intended to highlight the data and features of the EBS tool flow that influence one tool from another. Attendees should attend all 3 sessions to get all the hints to increase design productivity.
Part 1: This session presents a comprehensive schematic design workflow focusing on signal integrity analysis and constraint management. The process starts with pre-layout signal integrity analysis using HyperLynx tools and integration of data with Constraint Manager. Routing constraints are created based on LineSim simulations and imported into Constraint Manager to be applied to the relevant nets. Other Constraint Manager information, like cluster properties is demonstrated to aid in efficient routing later in the design flow. This workflow demonstrates a thorough approach to schematic design with emphasis on signal integrity analysis, constraint management, and team collaboration, ensuring proper documentation and communication throughout the design process.
Part 2: This presentation shows a systematic PCB design workflow from initial board creation through design rule verification. The process includes board creation, stackup verification, component placement, and manufacturing (DFM) checks setup and execution. The process continues with HyperLynx tools working with Xpedition for routing and tuning operations through constraint compliance. This sequence represents a comprehensive approach to PCB design, encompassing initial setup, DFM considerations, routing optimization, and signal integrity verification, ensuring a thorough and methodical design process.
Part 3: This session demonstrates a systematic PCB development verification process. The workflow includes checking out the board from EDM Design and exporting the layout to BoardSim for analysis. It shows signal integrity verification using HyperLynx tools to identify issues and reporting layout findings. The workflow continues with manufacturing verification using Valor NPI/VPL tools to identify potential DFM issues. The process concludes with final SI and DFM verification steps, creating the final ODB++ manufacturing export, completing the board check-in process, and conducting a comprehensive project review. This workflow demonstrates a methodical approach to PCB verification, incorporating signal integrity analysis, DFM checks, and final manufacturing preparation, ensuring a thorough and complete verification process before production.
