Design Review Analysis
Presented by Greg Caswell, DfR Solutions
Often, DfR Solutions is requested to perform a Design Review for a new product or for a product that is having problems in the field. This review is a comprehensive assessment of the design with reliability as the driving factor. A typical design review consists of a circuit analysis, looking at the performance of the circuit with respect to the load conditions and operating environment. We also examine the Bill of Materials (BOM) for known issues with certain types of components and derating to assure that the design has adequate margin. The analysis addresses the circuit board layout both from a voltage/current perspective but also from a manufacturability perspective. The Design for Manufacturability element of the review looks at the PCB surface finish, pad geometries, trace separation, component placement, process flow, and cleanliness and contamination.
In some cases a Design Review is coupled with a Sherlock Automated Design Analysis™ to assess the long term reliability of a products with respect to its life expectancy.
Similarly, the Design Review might encompass an MTBF analysis. DfR Solutions separates out the risk components and assesses them from a Physics of Failure viewpoint.
This webinar will address these different assessments to demonstrate how design reviews can provide significant benefit to you the customer.

BluePrint delivers electronic documents which perfectly articulates how to build and assemble your designs. This structure allows you to easily view, understand, use, and distribute the documentation. This electronic document is easy to share, and can be changed instantly to accommodate ECOs.DownStream software products are proven, competitive, and robust, all while remaining affordable and easy-to-use, learn, and install.
FPGA Forum - Trondheim (Norway)FPGA-Forum is the meeting place for FPGA-designers, project and technical leaders, researchers students and the larger hardware and EDA vendors. Come to FPGA-Forum for a two days seminar focussed on FPGA Design and meet InnoFour and Mentor Graphics at the exhibition. Besides the exhibition, InnoFour will also present the impact of requirement traceability in safety critical designs during one of the presentation sessions.
