Reliability Life Cycle Maturity Model (RLCMM) Different Levels of Reliability Design Processes
Reliability is the major driver of Customer Perceived Value. Reliability must be managed within a structured process which encompasses all the key activities needed. It should be managed from concept development through production with a systemic approach throughout the Extended Enterprise. The Reliability Life Cycle Maturity Model (RLCMM) allows proper assessment of a Company’s capabilities and defines a specific reliability process suitable to the level of maturity for the Company and its Industry.
There is a RLCMM for complex systems and one for non-complex systems. This presentation describes the different RLCMM levels starting from companies beginning to implement a reliability practice to a best-in-class reliability practice for complex systems. A low RLCMM level implies a company depends more on system and field testing to achieve their reliability targets. Companies with a high RLCMM level limit the execution of physical field testing by leveraging Upfront Pro-Active Virtual Reliability Engineering activities. A high RLCMM allows the achievement of reliability targets while reducing product development costs and time to market.
