Welcome to the most prestigious design contest in PCB—the Mentor Graphics Technology Leadership Awards! Started in 1988, this program is the longest running competition of its kind in the EDA industry. It recognizes engineers and CAD designers who use Mentor’s innovative technology to address today’s complex PCB systems design challenges and produce industry-leading products.
Open for entries: September 14 – October 30
This year, entrants will be able to submit their design accomplishments in any of seven categories representing a wide variety of industries:
- Computers, blade and servers, memory systems
- Consumer electronics and handheld
- Industrial control, instrumentation, security and medical
- Military and aerospace
- Semiconductor packaging
- Telecom, network controllers, line cards
- Transportation and automotive
Take this chance to be recognized within your team, your company, and by the global electronics design industry. Winners will be named for each category, plus a “Best Overall Design” recipient. Winners will receive up to three prizes, per entry/team. This year, the prizes are GoPro HERO3's for the winners of individual categories, and GoPro HERO4's for the overall winner.

Mentor Graphics Corporation announced new PADSĀ® 3D tool capabilities plus major usability enhancements to the PADS flow for printed circuit board (PCB) design. The new technology provides visualization, placement, and design rule checking in 3D, minimizing iterations with mechanical and manufacturing teams. Schematic design and layout enhancements improve usability across the flow for increased user productivity.
